Led by Julie McMahon
Julie is a photographic artist whose work centres on the interplay between light-sensitive chemistry and the natural world. Specialising in botanicals on silk and paper, Julie has refined the 19th-century Cyanotype process into a modern fine-art practice. She embraces the medium’s creative unpredictability as an essential element in the creation of her bespoke lampshades, wall art and greeting cards
This workshop provides a comprehensive foundation in the Cyanotype process. Under Julie’s expert guidance, you will explore the complete journey of “sun-printing” – from the coating of watercolour paper with light-sensitive solution, to the art of composing botanical specimens and exposure to the sun
This engaging workshop will provide you with the opportunity to create unique Cyanotype prints and develop the skills to continue exploring the process at home. No previous experience is required
This workshop is offered twice on 6 August – morning and afternoon
Cost: £35.00, including materials and refreshments
