Remembrance Sunday Service

Royal British Legion, Church Stretton Branch

The annual Service of Remembrance is not for the glorification of war, but for the country to come together in an “Act of Remembrance” for Servicemen, Servicewomen and members of the public services, who gave their lives in the service of our country

Should you not wish to participate in the Parade or Service, please come along as a spectator to the parade. If you have family medals, you are entitled to wear these on the right hand side of your coat/jacket.  Ex service/serving personnel will have any medals showing on their left side

Timings:

9.15am – Standards and Parade assemble outside the Health and Wellbeing Centre, Easthope Road, Church Stretton

9.30am – Parade participants process to St Laurence Church via Sandford Avenue, High Street and Church Way, Church Stretton

10.00am – Church Service commences

10.30am _Service Ends – Standards and participants process to Memorial Cross

10.58am – Remembrance Service commences

11.00am – Last Post and two minutes’ silence

11.02am  – Laying of wreaths
